Origin
This fathers cheese has a rich history. Production started more than a century ago at the ‘’Réfuge Notre Dame de St. Bernard’’ in Watou, Belgium. This farm was furnished with the purpose of making a fathers cheese. The cheese factory moved to the Trappistenweg around 1930, where until now the renowned St. Bernard beer is brewed. Mr Evarist Deconinck took over the cheese making from the fathers and expanded it further. The cheese factory was sold in 1959 and nowadays production is in the hands of Belgomilk in Moorslede.
